Following on from a highly successful year, global retail IT specialist, PCMS, has been awarded fourth place in the annual leaderboard ratings of top US retail technology publication, RIS News. In the Top 20 Software Vendors category, family-run PCMS was ranked alongside the world's leading software companies such as IBM and Oracle.

The leaderboard is one of the most respected league tables in retail IT as it is based on the votes and views of top retail executives with significant IT responsibility and who actually use the products of those companies surveyed. Published yearly, the ratings chart provides retail executives with the industry's top performers.

PCMS also topped the tables on a remarkable 11 occasions in the supplement's breakout categories - these included crucial areas such as quality of support, quality of service and product reliability. In addition, PCMS appeared amongst the top five in a further 18 categories. In what has been a strong year for PCMS, having rolled out software for retail giants in the UK and across the world, the rankings reflect the company's continued growth.

One of the projects PCMS will be working on this year includes the roll out of its Vision BeanStore PoS software and promotions engine across the entire portfolio of Canada's largest pharmacist. Closer to home, PCMS has contracts in place to integrate a new EPoS system into the UK's most well-known chain of department stores.

PCMS is looking forward to a positive 2010, as the company's innovative software will be rolled out to further 100,000 registers in 2010, with 30,000 already committed for 2011.
