Vision Central/Store Maintenance™ - Overview

Vision Store Management and Central Management are enterprise wide product, price and promotion management solutions, developed in our web browser based Java technology.

Web Browser Based Solutions
Vision Store Management and Central Management are written in a Java technology based on J2EE technology components and industry standard design patterns. This enables a business to make the best decision about where the data and application that the store uses actually resides. The stores themselves can have access to the Store Management functionality by connecting locally to a server in the store, or the same functionality can be accessed to a server located centrally, serving multiple stores.

Access from anywhere such as Head Office, branches or even from home or a hotel is now a real possibility with Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla web browser software. These solutions can be deployed in any J2EE compliant application server and will run against a variety of relational databases.
The beauty of the solution means that the user of the system doesn't need to know or care where the local browser in the store is connecting to. Naturally, there is a trade off between in-store resilience and network availability, but the choice is yours. Remove the store server and replace it with a more resilient network for your in-store PC's or network devices, or keep with in-store servers - both options are available.

Whichever option suits your business, the BeanStore PoS solution will continue to trade even if your network is offline, with the exception of only a handful of functions such as online EFT referral for example, as BeanStore is a fully resilient deployed solution designed to run locally on the PoS.

Our solutions provide an impressive level of flexibility, configuration, adaptability and re-use because the strict layering allows us to provide multiple user interfaces all accessing the same business logic. This enables support for multiple sales channels (e.g. Point of Service, Call Centre, Internet, Store Management, Head Office Control) each having their own user interface, but all invoking the same business functionality. Like all our products, these solutions are built for multiple language and currency implementations.

In addition to the possibility of being called from multiple user interfaces, the business logic itself can retrieve its data from multiple sources, although at its heart is a central Corporate Database that can be used to contain data for the whole enterprise and feed the various systems that need to connect to it with critical data (e.g. Product & Price for the PoS).

We interface to remote systems using industry standard XML messaging as this allows interfacing to back end systems with ease using modern communication technologies. Integration can be done via either standard HTTP Web Services or by using Message Oriented Middleware products such as 'SeeBeyond' for example. We also have application interfaces pre-built for SAP’s R3 Retail product.
