PCMS develops its VISION solutions to meet the needs of customers
Originally formed with a primary focus on Business Applications, Hardware Networking and Managed Services PCMS enhanced the offering further by developing a portfolio of solutions known as VISION software in 1985. They focused on improving key business processes and in 1993, PCMS was contracted by a major UK retailer to deliver a VISION Back Office solution. This was a turning point for PCMS; as the company made the decision to focus the business on serving the retail market. The first data warehouse was developed in 1996 which was quickly followed with a redevelopment of the Java based software applications in 1997. In the late 1990s, PCMS acquired a premier Java based electronic point of sale company based in the US. This acquisition enabled PCMS to develop VISION BeanStore; an innovative point of sale solution built to serve the needs of retailers. In 1999, PCMS also established a network of resellers throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
